OOC: A brief biography of the devil.
Name(s): Lucifer, The Morningstar, The Lightbringer, Lux Ferre, Satan, The Devil, Prince of Darkness, Atse'Hashke
Former Name: Samael
Alias: If you are unable to sense what he is, or might find the truth hard to handle, he may introduce himself as 'Mr Lux'.
Family: First-created son of God (Yahweh). Brother of Michael.
Fandom Origins: Originated in Neil Gaiman's 'Sandman' comics, and continued in the 'Lucifer' series, by Mike Carey.
PB: David Bowie (who was the inspiration for the original Sandman Lucifer artwork).
Notable History: With his brother, created the known universe to Yahweh's specifications. Michael being composed of pure demiurgic power, and Lucifer of pure will, one brother brought matter into existence, the other bent it into shape. As the Lightbringer, Lucifer kindled the suns and stars of the universe. Eventually he began to question his Father's rule, taking issue with the matter of predestination. After bringing war to heaven, Lucifer was offered his own realm to rule, that of Hell. Accepting the position, Lucifer spent ten billion years as sole lord of the underworld (briefly submitting to rule as part of a 'triumvirate' with Beelzebub and Azazel, but this proved to be purely nominal) until finally discarding his black wings and the keys to Hell's gates and leaving his 'kingdom' for good. Recently Lucifer has been running a piano bar called 'Lux' in Los Angeles, and planning his next move.
Current Status: The Lucifer of this 'verse is taken from somewhere in the middle of 'Lucifer' graphic novel 'Children and Monsters'. This means that; Lucifer has abandoned Hell but, God has not yet abandoned Heaven. Lucifer cut off his wings but, Later reclaimed them, healed from leathery black into fluffy white feathers again. Lucifer has used the top floor of Lux to open a gateway into the void but, Has not yet entered the void, or created anything there. Michael Demiurgos is still alive, And so is Elaine Belloc. The greater part of this will make little sense unless you're familiar with the 'Lucifer' comics (and if you are please tell me, because more people should be). |
